In order to become a Registered Dietitian (RD), it requires a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree from an ACEND-Accredited program, plus 1200 hours of a Dietetic Internship, then passing a CDR (Commission on Dietetic Registration) Exam. It also requires continuing education units in order to renew the RD license.
There are no certifications or licenses to become a nutritionist. Registered Dietitians are also considered Nutritionists but have extensive training in various topics in nutrition and are a credible source for providing nutrition information.
